3. It's not a defeat and that's not how federal courts work. It's another outcome that's (at this current moment in time) directionality positive for crypto, but no regulation has been updated or changed.

It's not a defeat because it's a ruling in a single case, not class relief. Class relief would be a ruling that applies to all crypto assets that comprise a class that the XRP occupies.

How is it not considered a defeat to the SEC's filing against Ripple?

Ofc there's still a strong case that XRP sold to institutional investors are securities, but selling on exchanges was ruled in favor of Ripple, giving the entire crypto industry some clarity on what constitutes selling securities
