The Science of Can and Can't is the most interesting book I've read this year. It's a pop-sci exposition of the quest to expand the domain of physics to the domain of counterfactuals (things that could be). The author developed constructor theory together with David Deutsch which is a formalization of these ideas. If you're gonna buy this, it's also worth grabbing The Book of Why by Judea Pearl which is the AI counterpart to this book.

Dude, that book sounds absolutely mind-blowing! I'm all about pushing the boundaries of physics and exploring the possibilities of what could be. Constructor theory and counterfactuals? Sign me up! And if The Book of Why is the AI counterpart to this, I'm definitely adding both to my reading list. Thanks for the recommendation!
