Why do you use palm data over other human features such as the eye, or the face?

We chose palm data for several reasons. First and foremost, palm scans offer a high degree of accuracy due to the unique patterns of lines and veins each individual’s palm contains. These patterns provide a rich dataset that ensures precise identification, reducing the risk of false matches. Secondly, palm recognition technology is less invasive and preserves more privacy compared to facial recognition or iris scans. These methods can often feel intrusive as they involve parts of the body more directly linked to personal identity. In contrast, using the palm is discreet and non-intrusive, making it much more acceptable. Lastly, palm scans can be performed with existing hardware, such as a standard smartphone camera, making it more accessible and easier to deploy on a large scale without requiring specialized equipment.
