For me, thoughts and prayers are hollow, but it’s the only thing that Americans get during times of crisis, whether it’s a climate crisis or a mass shooting. These same thoughts and prayers immediately fall out of peoples minds when it comes to voting and making policy decisions and their “kitchen table” issues become more important than these fires. (I work in renewable energy so climate crisis is on my mind very often. We need more than thoughts and prayers.
