after the Lex x Beff pod, i am more skeptical of than persuaded by e/acc: -URL vibes are 1000% hyper masculine, but the IRL vibes are… not, to put it bluntly -the sense it was started as satire, unexpectedly took off w/o a strong foundation, and now they’ve doubled down due to sunk cost fallacy any counters? https://twitter.com/Devon_Eriksen_/status/1739794075757289840 is a decent point. as always, satoshi's rebuttal seems appropriate. e/acc is just a meme that policymaking is clearly unwise & many will continue to embrace risk/act freely b/c this is the healthy way to achieve security. policy making is “unwise” yet the wisest people in crypto (Coinbase) are actively asking for policy and engaging in policy making. let’s be practical and pragmatic here.

practically, pragmatically, has coinbase advocated for these policies unimpeachibly, or is there credible dissent? the point still stands that there is no certainty to this approach & others can choose other paths w/ other risks. I wouldn't call any party the wisest. coinbase folks are intelligent (from my POV)

also, in consideration to the OP, why should I or anyone else obey the tenuous ideal of others? what do I have to lose by denying that norm of obedience? it's pretty clear that I should be curious, care less, & trade flattery for less comfortable truth. maybe that's why e/acc bothers so many ppl.

if you read the responses here, it seems clear that’s not why it bothers people. go ahead and deny the norm of obedience. we’re all entitled to our own opinions. im not going to shame or name call you if you disagree, but e/acc will do that to me if i disagree w/ them — losing my support + support of others :)

stated vs revealed preference. but I understand where you're coming from. many of the polarizing posts have actively lashed out at ppl (especially b/c social media). I tend to have doubts myself, but not concerning the core Cathedral vs Bazaar debate. I think there should be more feedback & diverse risk (not "less").

yeah, i agree with you about the core debate and more feedback / risk. lashing out at people, name calling, alienation, condescension, negative tribalism are only going to hurt his small movement. his intelligence isn’t going to beat out basic human behavior principles, even if he has enough hubris to think it will.

in a sense, kowloon was doomed to fail (fire/labor/lighting/etc). it still has its cultural purpose, and we wouldn't have gotten that in a sterile environment. the rhetoric of mass media is negative (perhaps generally hubristic). perhaps it will build up & fall for posterity, anyway. e/acc will evolve or be eulogized.
