I like this article because they are honest about the context: it's a horrific 3D flesh body having a seizure on a infinite 2D plane. I seriously doubt he would have the same disgust response to Ghiblification. But also I don't think he would be gung-ho for the same reason many artists are not enthused: on the surface, it appears to cheapen their art.

miyazaki’s work is heavy on environmentalist and anticapitalist themes. i highly doubt he would champion this on any level but i could be wrong…
