genuine question: is there an example of an erc20 token that isn't a zero sum game?

The definition of zero sum is probably the determining factor here. Are you talking explicitly financial?

interpret it how you’d like. Say more?

To me if you open it up outside of strictly monetary gains, a lot of ERC-20s are not zero sum and that's because value is created out of potentially the enjoyment of a game for instance. Or you can say if I have said token and it gives me access to a community, and this community makes me feel welcomed and helps me with my mental health; would be something I consider non monetary value
