my kneejerk reaction to this tweet: - would be cool if warpcast wallet had no fee for user to user transfers, seems pro-social (could still maintain swap fees or whatever other wallet fee) - degen and moxie (s/o @jacek, @betashop.eth) already did the number / amounts part as part of relevance and rewards wdyt?

I don't think Warpcast @allet has any fee for P2P transfers so i'm confused? If I go to your profile and pay you $1 USDC, there's no fee besides a gas fee which is negligible but maybe not for micro-transactions yet @miguelgarest.eth had a good suggestion here https://warpcast.com/miguelgarest.eth/0x1c368b50

The fee is already 'de minimis' on Base, and I think USDC transfers are already free? On top of that the Pectra hardfork will enable account abstraction at multiple levels, meaning gas/fees will be abstracted away. tl;Dr I think Farcaster already has this, people just don't want to give up their Twitter following because of inertia.

nerdy idea, but maybe this could be one of those bounty type contests for ideas how to make the 'p2p tipping' model popoff on Farcaster, with the upshot being it might help FC win the next decade of social : ) I don't really know how those work, but I would participate and try to win 🤓

I don’t think it is the fee, I think it is the model. $Degen and $Moxie both running into problems with being farmed. I think the platform needs to tie the model to Ads or Subs or something driven by the platform to keep the value of the tipping token in a sustainable uptrend. Maybe the tie-ins to WC Rewards is the first type of experiment in this direction.

with how cheap a send tx is on base it feels mostly like a ux/ui problem. warpcast didnt embrace tipping as message with degen etc, but could maybe embrace it ar the app level and allow to send money to people from the compose box too (and attach a note/notification if you wanna)

When i read “p2p” i also think IRL tipping On that front, cash is still what people use bc you don’t need someone else’s wallet address or QR to give them cash I think that is the primary limiting factor more than fees

Who says it’s a platform that’s going to solve this? Bankr effectively brings the exchange to the platform. If Coinbase bought it, they could make all in-platform (any platform) transfers conform to Coinbase policies (ie, no fees on USDC).
