tons of users have been reaching out to me re: spam labels. when i look at their content, these are the 5 most common pieces of feedback i give: 1. don’t only post mini-apps. think of warpcast as early facebook: if someone only posted dolphin olympics screenshots every day, people would tune them out. 2. avoid overly generic content. casting "gm" or inspirational quotes is fine occasionally, but if your feed feels interchangeable with anyone else’s, it’s hard for people to connect with you. 3. don't use AI thoughtlessly. people notice when casts or replies feel like ChatGPT wrote them. it’s fine to use AI, just add real thoughts or emotions. authenticity wins here. 4. don’t repost stolen photos / art from the internet. farcaster values original content or curation that reflects your taste — not just what’s trending on pinterest, reddit, or X. 5. quality > quantity. you don’t need to cast 10x a day or reply to everyone everywhere. take time to cast things you would stop scrolling to read.

I know cases where this doesn’t apply, like @pekosa She joined over a month ago and her content is good quality and engaging. Also, @anvida who is known in the Spanish community… he cats mainly in Spanish. Does the algorithm takes into account non English speakers?

Great advice! For point number 5, it seems like Warpcast rewards are incentivizing quantity over quality. I’m sure Merkle is aware of this, so curious if you can share what you are doing to improve this?

I’m actually comforted that others have been experiencing this too- I’ve been like what is up with still being read as a bot. Easy to think you are doing it wrong. I honestly dedicate about an hour a day, trying to connect in different ways with ppl. I have been resigned to a slow grow philosophy and valuing myself as I navigate this new space. I have felt like giving up a few times recently but have found little glimmers of connection giving me hope and telling myself have patience and trust the process. Thanks for this tangible feedback tho @ted

I guess the one exception to rule one is if you’re the mini app's creator yet I got turned off of engaging with those requiring so much casting with no content or context. However, I like to think that my content is interesting but still trying to get scope and views and traction is super hard.

what if i post a lot of art that i really like, but those accounts either are very small and not very active, or they simply aren't on farcaster yet? i'm just trying to spread awareness to art that may be overlooked because it's not a big person with big prices. is my reach getting throttled for that?
