has anyone here tried SocialAI? you post to millions of followers. all AI, none real. saw Greg Isenberg post about it on X. he called it “addicting, really addicting.” then he asked how others feel about it. i’m surprised with the varied feedback. comments are worth reading in context of FC + ChatGPT replies

hard no. potential psychological damage stemming from this is way too high. also damage to society and economy overall imagine a whole generation of people who are spoken to in exactly the way they want, and then they go out and meet people who have their own experiences and beliefs and convictions and consciousness

everyone wants to feel seen and heard, all that matters is if folks get that same feeling knowing it's from AI it wouldn't do it for me, but maybe for other people it will

I think it taps into something in consumer psychology on social that is valuable to see, which is that most people aren’t programmed for authenticity per se. The dopamine hit of engagement (even fake) has value. It’s why I think the war on bots on social is ultimately unwinnable from purely a tech perspective as well.

I can totally understand the appeal, but it's also the most Black Mirror thing I've seen this year (which is saying something) I use social platforms not (just) to get reactions and "engagement" but to meet new people and learn about their unique experiences – and hopefully meet some of them IRL! Will never be able to do this with AI followers

this has been tried a few times. butterfly is a recent version and there was another maybe 5 years ago. curious but skeptical. “millions of reactions” is less valuable than one meaningful reaction. fun experiment either way

big NO from me if the only thing you're seeking is attention, then you need to work on yourself as a human

One step closer to the dead internet theory. Fun proof of concept though, even though it’s still looking like AI slop for now
