with TikTok, users decide who wins (algo boosts based on video performance) and therefore which creators gets paid

with Drakula, 8 people decide which creators get paid (unless i understand wrong)

TikTok: more decentralized, maybe less pay
Drakula: less decentralized, maybe more pay

just asking content creators if they care more about $$ or decentralization to see if farcaster would surprise us.

imo most creators care about $$ so this is the right approach

creators only care about decentralization once they feel they’ve been censored and therefore get less $$

Later will be more decentralized, more pay. We hear you, we are at our “multisig” era right now, progressive decentralization style :)

not saying one is better or worse, just pointing out current state of TikTok (not it’s early state) vs current state of Drakula

tbh i think creators may only want $$ so drakula wins; that’s what will decide it for me

hmm pretty sure tik tok seeded or incentivized creators to post early on - as did insta with reels, which would have been decided on by the companies

So not sure this is a perfect analogy.

not sure what the point of doing it web3 is at this point.

TikTok seeded lots of markets w creator funds like this as part of their growth playbook. 

I think creators value economics, distribution/growth, and ux much more than decentralization. Methinks there’s also value in helping them diversify and get off the likes/views algo treadmill.

Might be good to start the mission with a board of directors sort of like Nouns did and then release it to the community once the tech and Drakula community/network is fully fleshed out etc.

This is interesting. On one hand, less decentralized = increased chance of grift. On the other hand, "curation" of rewards = better quality on the platform.
