really stressed. We launched this morning and did not make the front page and it was a blow (we prepared for a long time for this and they are very hit and miss). Then we randomly made it in the evening. This has never happened and I'm a bit curious why it happened like this, but I'll take it :) now we get eyeballs, and that's what we really wanted. We want devs to try it out

first, congratulations on the launch!!! always good to get something out there. what’s the delta in how you’re feeling between this AM and now? seems net positive :) and curious how you position yourselves/the launch to get on front page of HN? ive never had a strategy for it so i know nada

Positioning is subtle. Gotta build something that devs find interesting and doesn’t feel like a shill. Sharing code and a way to try it out, showing off what it can do without coming off as too cocky. Developers are a difficult crowd and HN is notoriously snobby. So we prepare by building the right set of features and showcasing them, then draft the release and build adjacent “viral mechanisms” to try and capitalize on. For us that’s a hub: https://hub.srcbook.com
