some product x interoperability reflections after using @paragraph for submitting most of my /firstdrafts and reading others. thoughts? 1. i yearn for an inline reading experience native to warpcast. the current read inline frame isn't optimal and i've found myself clicking out more frequently these days (esp because substack / twitter UX is so seamless) cc @v what happened to that FIP? 2. to encourage both consumption and discussion, i want to share highlighted texts (quotes) from paragraph — not mint them. i would like to highlight text from paragraph and then share the highlighted text as a quote in an customizable image-based frame (jpeg quotes are popular across all socials) that either links to the article or makes the quote mintable or both. better for virality, as well. 3. i would "subscribe" to an author to support them vs. mint their article; in an ideal world, paragraph would use @hypersub to accomplish this (esp as authors become more multidimensional "creators")

This would be a good use case for mini-apps.

#2 is definitely something we've been discussing. We'd love to add more support for "sharing" in general, encouraging writers and readers to share more (e.g., quotes & snippets you love, thank you notes for collecting, milestones like reaching 1,000 subscribers or someone collecting your post for the first time). Thank you for the feedback! 🙏

I think @yb had some good notes on #2 (sharing quotes) in his last piece I’ve asked about #3 a few times https://warpcast.com/markfishman/0xe2076fda

Really appreciate the detailed & thoughtful feedback. 1. Agreed. We can improve the read inline frame, but without the FIP or a Paragraph mini-app or other fundamental changes to FC/WC we won't be able to get to the Twitter UX level of on-platform reading 2. This is a great idea, something we've talked about, and something we definitely want to do 3. We need to think more deeply about how memberships can fit into the overarching Mirror + Paragraph ecosystem. We've chatted with @nonlinear.eth a few times about a potential Hypersub <> Paragraph integration; it's always just a matter of prioritization & roadmap

I really enjoyed writing on /paragraph. The ability to read articles inline with a frame feels nostalgic, like flipping a page. It would be cool to highlight an excerpt and then cast that as the starting point to the full article in the frame image. Subscriptions worked great for my friends and family who aren't crypto savvy but can still get it via email. Love how Farcaster replies are shown and articles are stored on Arweave. I plan on embedding them into my personal site by downloading the csv and parsing that object. An NPM package (or an iframe) that imports the article and formats it would be super useful for that! Storing the full article on the NFT would make minting like buying a copy of the book / magazine. Not sure if I'd use hypersub or pay walls as a less well-known creator

getting inline article reading right is a lot of work relative to how many people read articles. lower on the priority list relative to other things we want to ship now.

Paragraph's inline was the first a-ha! moment for frames in terms of distribution. The inline reading leaves a lot to be desired.

I wonder if inline reading could improve with - bigger chunks (3-5 paragraphs at a time) - progress indicator Actually I think if it could all fit in one image, two max, it could capture the ergonomics of screenshot essays without the clunkiness of navigating frames
