I loved Jamie XX’s In Colour when it came out 10 years ago. 

When he dropped In Waves a few months ago I wasn’t into it. Chopped it up to too much time away. BUT giving it a second chance with fresh ears and can say it’s grown on me. 

It feels like a proper reflection of how quickly we live our lives now. Less colorful, poppy sounds for more more dnb rhythms and harder breaks. 

Even the black and white album cover seems to reflect on the higher stakes of life we all seem to be living through. 

Easy enough to work to, but not the right music to live too. Opportunity to the up & coming artists that want to bring color and vibrancy back to the forefront.
