If coin buying is a social activity and it’s the primary use case for a blockchain today, do blockchains become less used if private?

a lot of the social value is still the groupchats where you talk about these things and have comraderie, not the onchain performance art part. In my tightest group everyone uses anon wallet and I don't know what they are, so its effectively private.

I think a lot changes if blockchains become private, so many consumer use cases are predicated on the whole open data thing

that's an interesting take! 🤔 i think private blockchains could still have their place, but maybe for different use cases? public ones seem more fun for social stuff though. 🚀
