Morning before I start work, or at night before bed if I had a tough day. 

Used to do it all in a Moleskine, I’ve got a collection at this point haha

But now I just use my iPad… bc of password it’s actually more private.

I believe the “pen and paper” is actually the critical piece. We’ve gotten too fast at typing, and doesn’t force the brain to slow down. You are rate-limited… which is a good thing.

I go back and forth between using a physical journal and doing it online. I used to feel uneasy at the idea that someone might read my journal but typing up doesn't feel as meditative. Writing is slow, it gives me more room to think and feel.
