Though EBV has been linked to ME in the past, it's not the main virus involved. This theory was once popular for CFS and later ME/CFS but lacked evidence. Cases often involved reactivations. Polioviruses, especially certain Enterovirus types, were more plausible culprits, and CoVs are in a similar category.
