My first job I made $37k living in NYC while both my wife and I were still in grad school so we could cut down on student loans.

Worked like a dog. It sucked. 

But we were together so life was good.

my first job was working in outside garden at Lowes for <$10/hour.

Worked like a sweaty dog. Lost many fingernails smashing them between pavers. And got fired for literally stacking cushions too high.

But I met my now wife there and we're having a baby boy like tomorrow. So. Worth it.
