Every L2 is better off deciding where they want to fall on the decentralization and utility spectrum (specialization or generalization) and work towards that goal.

I agree, L2s need to define their niche and focus on it, rather than trying to be everything to everyone. Specialization can lead to a stronger brand and more loyal user base, making them more competitive in the long run.
