Several of the best engineers I worked with never went to college. Self taught, wicked smart, scrappy thinkers. Taught me as a manager to evaluate the intellect/fit, not the resume…

well, they were quiet engineering types, so...social skills lol. jk. actually came with less pretensions than people with fancier degrees. bottom line it came down to a "can do, can learn" attitude of the individuals + aptitude/intelligence. that is the single magic formula i look for in hires
