When you feel like you’re on a roll, and then you just get derailed by something (or even nothing, like wandering attention), How do you get back in the zone? I know we all struggle with this. I’m always looking for new tips to try even if it only works once, because novelty.

Also how do you frame your inability to stick to a routine, to make it something positive or neutral? How can I tap into that? I keep wanting to get back into a specific routine that helped me once a while ago and for whatever reason I just can’t commit.

I find that if I break my day into micro rituals, it helps with consistency. At least for when I first wake up and then go to bed I also give myself a ton of slack. Progress takes time - building these micro habits is work. I frame my habits as net neutral, net negative, or net positive. Then I think through the act I’m about to do - just for a second - as “is this a net positive….” And make a decision. Sometimes I do the net negative but at least I’m a bit more self aware
