This would change the strategies of a huge chunk of the industry, and eventually turn ethereum mainnet into a monopoly. Hoping this is true.

How would removing the gas limit remove the need for ETH? In terms of fees, probably would be similar to the current situation with rollups, but even more demand since everyone would want to be on the same chain.

Yea I'm exaggerating, but I mean close to zero gas = close to zero need for ETH, even with increased demand. No?
