Frames make it easy to claim NFTs and fungibles at the gas expense of the creator. The most obvious meta is free mints with a reserved allocation to the devs to compensate for gas sponsorship + possible upside. Am I missing anything?

Yes - if bots occupy majority of the mint then the token will not appreciate so there is no upside for the creator. So this meta will need to gate mints based on active badge or some other qDAU-defining metric

100% . Gas at expense of creator playing as paymaster is not sustainable and gas can add up is you are aiming for a wide reach and all you get is bots ploughing through most of the supply.
