even though i’m open and vocal with my own criticism, i think the community here expends far too much energy on short-term concerns i think that: 1) Merkle should formalize feedback collection so we can have organized and long-lived public discussions on these topics 2) the community should take more ownership over the things we can control instead of just complaining (i intentionally didn’t put this in /warpcast because Farcaster belongs to all of us 🫡)

Just my two cents… If you get a farcaster boost, don’t make one of your boosted casts a screenshot of the boost notification. We all love that you’re getting more reach, and that we’re now seeing your posts, don’t waste the moment by telling us how shocked you are to be here. Act as if. Instead, crush quality content for the next 24 hours and let us all wonder if you hit those engagement numbers because you were boosted, or if you’re just that awesome.

New users having to discern between bots and other real users is an interesting wrinkle to the cold start problem It’s the worst right now for text-based content networks, but will extend to all new content networks Probably need to curate heavily while the network is in its teething phase and edges are still forming

Farcaster’s edge over the bird app is its ability to organise chaos (large magnitudes of real time engagement). Channels segment real time engagements across a multitude of topics on a generalised social network. Giving the platform the strength of Reddit but the engagement and live-ness of Twitter.

merkle doesn't need a marketing hire, they need a community hire that is no t an OG or otherwise part of the entrenched community!! ppl with context know that @dwr.eth wasn't saying ppl here are uninteresting, but it's the ppl without context that farcaster needs to get to more interesting content imagine if the 'need more interesting content' message was filtered through someone with community / experience expertise, who also had the credibility of a relationship with Merkle? existing users would not have been alienated and it might even have pulled in some new ones if it was framed more as an invitation than a complaint
