Are there any plans to drop the free mint price to align more closely with other creative outlets like Zora, Rodeo, Moshi, etc. where the free mint is closer to 30 cents? 

I love soundxyz, but tbh, both as a creator and collector, ~$3 is on the high side now

If we're being candid, it seems to make more sense for artists to drop on Zora right now...30 cents is a lot more affordable for the collector that can be made up in volume, easy discovery by the app and/or website, and at the conclusion of the mint, they can be traded like ERC20 tokens which benefits both the artist & collector.

The mint fee is 0.000777 ETH which is ~$1.71. Do you really think owning a piece of creative work that an artist (or, often, many artists) probably laboured over for days, weeks or months is worth less than half the cost of a coffee? Why should web3 mirror web2 in a race to the bottom where artists are expected to offer their outputs virtually for free? Would you haggle with a plumber who wanted to charge you $1.72 for many hours of work?
