I've been a part of the art community for 2.5 years on X & now here for a few months, & I can tell you with certainty that artists on @farcaster are at a crossroads. Best case 1: There's some foundational shift where the fc ecosystem elevates these "quality content" creators & they can have a meaningful existence here. Best Case 2: They go explore Lens or maybe back to X (where despite the algo, they get some recognition for their art from their peers). Worst case: They get disenchanted with web3 altogether because they've been scammed, rugged, ignored, reduced to a number & pretty much treated like second class citizens regardless of where they exist. I worry about this the most. Irony 1: The art community is the most vibrant community any social community can have. We literally have generational talent hanging out amongst us & most of us are unaware. Irony 2: Artists who are here are the most tech forward of the normie bunch we'd wanna onboard. Biggest assets for any social platform. 1/2 š§µ

1) wallets and platforms donāt give a fuck ab artists bc the art here is supposed to be about tradeable value. you canāt organize your wallets bc the goal is for artists to keep dropping.

Iāve never thought about why wallets are such a visual and informative nightmare, but they are. Iāve spent many hours speaking to @sunnysangwan about the future and the unlock of digital art displays and software. Itās the missing piece to the ecosystem as it exists. People have accumulated so much and we need better ways to be able to access, organize, and utilize what weāve collected.

Itās a disaster, letās be honest. @accountless.eth spoke a lot of truth that I really mostly have spoken to you about in private, Sunny. Where are these tools? Especially on Eth š And this continual need for mintingā¦ How about honoring what weāve already collected? If that just gets ignored and isnāt assigned any value or isnāt tradable, what is it?

I can just as easily flip the script and put the onus on us. Why're we not honoring what we've collected, and create galleries, share it everyday etc., after all it is OUR art collection? š¤·āāļø I don't think the math works out for collector tools focused on art. There are plenty of tools geared towards PFPs because the math checks out. It's coming I'd say.

In regards to the galleriesā¦. because of the time and energy involved to do so, I could do better, but itās not like I havenāt spent hours upon hours upon hours of my life doing so. I could do better about sharing galleries even if they donāt feel done to me. They greatly struggle on mobile which remains a huge roadblock. I know youāve mentioned that the tools have gotten better, but there is a lot of room for improvement. Itās also not like I havenāt shared artwork I love over and over and over again. We are doing so much to try and keep up in the crypto social space that this deep organization and displaying of art gets pushed down farther and farther.
