Russia has reportedly transferred long-range missiles along with advanced electronic warfare equipment to Iran in anticipation for likely Iranian strikes against Israel. According to Israeli news reports and OSINT reporting the Murmansk-BN system has been set up at military sites across Iran to help deter possible Israeli F-35 strikes amid a war. The systems aim to jam and intercept signals and in this context would aim to disable Israeli Air Force guidance systems and communications with headquarters. The reported military exchanges come amid the backdrop of the ongoing war in Ukraine where Iran has emerged as a major supplier of Shahed-2 drones to Russia and has helped set up a plant for their manufacture on Russian soil. Prior to October 7, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu had attempted to build ties with Russia but these have since deteriorated. https://armyrecognition.com/news/army-news/army-news-2024/iran-deploys-russian-murmansk-bn-electronic-warfare-system-to-counter-israeli-f-35i-stealth-fighters

Netanyahu is going all in. I don’t think he wants to de-escalate at this point. Maybe coz he knows that once this conflict chills, his own party will likely throw him out. Putin definitely doesn’t want this de-escalated and is probably relishing this because he gets to mess with the US indirectly.
