the same warpcast i used to adore but became a shill zone for Rodeo, I mean, you are free to do and think what you want, I just feel something smells wrong with Rodeo, so I’m watching from the stands, while making art everyday, without minting them, because not everything needs to be minted.

Yeah, I think I’m gonna stop sharing my top 9. It’s getting to be too much of that on here. Boring. I’ll share something I collected a while ago that I want people to see, just like with stuff collected elsewhere and leave it at that.

This isn’t my first Rodeo. This licensing clause is shit for artists and rehashing much of the worst of web2. To make this less opaque - once you upload, Rodeo can use, reproduce, and distribute your work in any way they see fit, for as long as they want, anywhere in the world, and without paying you a dime. That’s a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide license to do whatever they want.

It also doubles down on the same centralized structures we need to escape. They can host, index, and profit from your work in massive, locked-down databases, effectively recreating the same walled gardens that gave creators so little say in how their art was circulated or monetized. Slapping a “Web3” label on top doesn’t fix that problem.

I enjoy rodeo it seems like it is encouraging many people to create, I agree not everything needs to be minted nor does every artist need to use rodeo, but it is fun to see some of my fav artists there, I also do not expect full works to be minted there either, to me it's a sandbox I see some artists testing things out side of their normal style

Guilty as charged (but I agree about Rodeo smelling a bit off). However, I made enough money on there to buy a new pair of shoes this week which is more than I can say for Objkt dot com. That amount usually took me a month or two. 

The "reward" system there encourages me to collect but it gets me dosh every time someone else collects the same pieces as me. Admittedly the cost of one piece means 4 people have to buy the same thing to level me up. But above that I am raking in the dollars (usually cents TBH). 

Now they have the "offer" system of selling on collected pieces for 5x or 10x original cost, the money can be good. 

AND I still sell my own work too.
