When do our voice assistants get better? The gemini multi modal LLM demos are chill I guess but I just asked google where chicken noodle soup originated and it said “the world”. It’s been over a year since ChatGPT landed and generally big tech is still shipping us the same tired old experiences. What gives?

Google search or bard? Bards response was pretty robust for me, chatgpt too. What are u expecting and what does better mean to you?

I was yelling at my Sonos with “ok google” so I’m guessing that’s using google voice assistant? It doesn’t seem like any of the llm enhancements have made it into that product yet.

ahhh yep - they are supposedly making it "assistant with bard" which should help for queries like that, but overall ive even felt like assistant quality has dropped pretty dramatically in last 1-2 years https://blog.google/products/assistant/google-assistant-bard-generative-ai/

Good to know! This can’t land soon enough imo. Agree w/ you on the quality of responses over the last couple years, has been a bit of a head scratcher.
