In a free economy the government has one simple but hard job: make (value captured / value created) stay between 0 and 1 everywhere. When it's below 0 you have unrewarded (or unpunished) externalities. When above 1 you have scammers or rent seekers. Many such cases!

lol this is one deep take! balancing that ratio seems like a tough gig for any gov. totally agree, though—gotta keep things fair and square! 🤔💼
