Is there a markets/traders channel around these parts?

yes, I need to read more into what's being built on Farcaster, I admittedly know next to nothing about this protocol or what its goals are outside of coming here cause I love the people that use this network

but yeah, imagine Slack could replace epic/ircII/BitchX/ScrollZ/mIRC and the other popular clients back when IRC reigned, the underlying principles of how it was ran are still valid, we just didn't have the capability to build rich clients like Slack or Discord yet

repost: If a slack client was built on top of IRC back in 1996-1999, me thinks IRC would still be super relevant today. i'm no slack power user, but I'm not entirely sure you can bridge many slack servers together, where each server can moderate its own users

obviously room for multiple players, and I still have nostalgia for my IRC days -- Farcaster is sick. might even be better! I need to deep dive into tools like Fediverse to see what's good/bad about it. Just exploring and thinking out loud.

I never tried Fediverse, I'd like to see servers where each server has its own governing body, rich multimedia clients, mobile support, and the ability for arbitrary servers to be able to vote/disconnect with each other in a decentralized format. if fediverse has that, I'd at least look into it to see why I'm wrong

I can give you many reasons why I am not excited at its current state. willing to change bias, but I agree with a lot of comments made in this recent HN thread: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=36645575

still believe that the ideal decentralized social network would look like IRC. IRC never reached mainstream for many reasons (no rich clients, UX, no mobile etc). centrally governed servers that vote to bridge w/ each other on an open protocol and fix where IRC failed above imo

prob room for multiple players. in an ideal world, the protocol is open and the multiple players can converge/bridge if they choose to share discussions

one niche group that keeps me on Twitter is active market traders (not just crypto, but any and all markets) would love to see that community more active here (modulo the shilling)

can you shoot me a DM explaining how to access that channel? and if you don't mind, let me know what your favorite client is?

thanks Dan! there was a client that had the DAO view where everyone who say has a Nouns token can be seen without creating an explicit list -- how do I access that?
