The thought of a Warpcast (not Farcaster) doing a KYC power badge is interesting. Pros - Cuts bot spam significantly - Less bots = higher quality content? Cons - Will likely hurt some countries where KYC methods are not possible - Other clients will also likely need to adopt something similar unless Warpcast makes an API, but again creates dependency on Warpcast - Bigger barrier to entry for anyone Web3 or Web2. I don’t have to do KYC on threads or any other social platform, so why would anyone non-web3 want to go through that? On the web3 side it’s an obvious barrier. Definitely a tough balancing act. imo these kinds of problems really do make a “sufficiently decentralized social graph” a hard sell to both users and devs.

Forgot to add: If KYC could be added using ZK proofs it might reduce the blow to onboarding Web3 users and honestly be a great case study for ZK

KYC doesn't solve the problem.. Spammers are willing to do KYC than normal people
