Appreciation Part Deux, Electric Boogaloo: 7/3/24

I appreciate this exchange between @stephenborst and @horsefacts.eth from the other day, as it brought back many memories of my early professional life.  The years spent playing it safe, not taking chances, and hoping to rise through the ranks...

Then I met a couple psychos, and became one myself.  I cut the safety net, built a couple businesses, went 19 months without pay (and making payroll out of pocket that whole time), and... absolutely made it.  Did it my way.  And more importantly, learned a whole lot about who I really am in the process.

Believe in yourself.  Take that leap.

Man, that's basically where I'm at. I'm done trying to work for others and go through this cycle of BS dead-end jobs when I know I could be doing something much better with my time and efforts. Humans would much rather do something they enjoy, and that is definitely true for me. If I'm in, I'm all in and ready to push that gas. 

I've been trying to take my shot at what aligns more with my needs and wants. Nothing's hit yet, but I ain't stopping. I'm proud of where I'm at, but I want to go much farther for myself & my loved ones.

I mean it, brother.  Took me nearly 9 years to believe in myself enough to just say fuck it, let’s roll.  No more grinding and hoping, making money for everybody but me.  

Once I did, my life changed completely.  All facets.  Confidence, outlook, mindset, focus.  And that opened all sorts of new doors and connections for me, and continues to do so.  

Just took on a minority stake in another company in a parallel industry that I’d ideally like to transition to fully in the next 3-5 years.  If you told me way back when that I’d be here now, I’d never have believed it.
