removing the cost for real users to join and contribute to the network is an existential problem farcaster needs to solve most people don't pay for social media - doesn't matter if it's $1 or $10 - it's not something they're used to this is also an existential problem for apps building on farcaster

I disagree. Any fee is not a problem at all. Yes, there is the never-ending claim that people are not used to paying for things, yet thousands of paid services and apps are thriving. People will happily pay for things that they consider valuable, and builders need to learn to ask for a fair price. Especially in web3.

I could say Twitter, YouTube but I know what you mean โฆ โฆ the fact is that they pay - with lock-up on their profile and social graph + all the data + unconscious addiction + slow but real loss of diversity of viewpoints is irrelevant. They donโt pay to start. I get that. It does not mean itโs a bad thing to pay to start ๐
