Bought some to support @vrypan.eth! App coins feel like an inefficient way to fundraise since snipers and traders are going to rinse everyone trying to support the cause Kinda miss the NFT days. At least you’d have a collectible to show for it afterwards and the illiquidity makes the value a bit more subjective

If you play the game you should probably be trying to profit and send the profit to the cause And if you lose, realize the loss for a tax write off instead of holding

🙏 I'm curious to see how this will work. In an ideal scenario, the token goes high, the project has a treasury that's worth something and can support me to work full time on this, as well as pay other contributors or costs, and the publicity of the token also benefits the project. Worst case scenario, snipers and traders make all the profits while driving the token to zero, and I'll work on lemon3 on my free time :-)

agree on the inefficiency here, besides NFTs, what you think could be the best way to do a crowdfunding in these days?

💯 agree! plus the artistic value of nfts makes them feel better. wish there were a creative synthesis between nfts and fungible coins. elective fungibility and fractionalization of nfts. elective consolidation of coins into unified nfts. convertible coins.

coin projects could launch a commemorative NFT to its first bakers, actually not a bad idea i could also do if holders are interested in

Yeah, app coins can be a double edged sword good for quick liquidity but also vulnerable to snipers and short-term traders. NFTs at least had a social/status flex and some illiquidity to stabilize value. Maybe the best model is somewhere in between?
