for frames that create new frames to work, we need a native "compose" button action in the spec. deeplinking to warpcast is unfriendly to alt clients cc @horsefacts.eth

Ah, like frames that are using links for "create cast" intents and other actions? Yeah, agree, we've been calling these "Farcaster actions" internally. Ideally we get to a standard URL schema but there's a lot of surface area there. If we had to start with a few specific actions, what would you want?

that or maybe copy to clipboard would be even better. i work around this by detecting the client by signer and display compose button conditionally. if enhancing spec this way wasn't an option, i would welcome any adjustment that would simplify client identification (e.g. "user agent" headers) cc @horsefacts.eth

There are technically farcaster:// deep links that do not just depend on warpcast but afaik not heavily used / supported everywhere
