Nah, scam PFPs long rugpulls giving NFTs a bad rep, crypto bear and false bull after that draining funds, high inflation killing luxury markets, and artists lowering their prices into the ground to try to get ANY kind of sales is what killed cryptoart. Free mints were just the symptom/last gasp of that final stage.

No, it's a matter of supply and demand. In physical art you use material for each work of art and there is a barrier to entering the market. With NFTs, if you have already made your investments, which could be a cheap laptop, you do not have to incur additional costs for an extra NFT. the barrier to entering the market is virtually non-existent. Therefore more supply and lower prices.
