inspired by @dwr.eth, the @base team now spends all our time thinking about how we grow: - quality monthly transacting addresses (qMTA) - quality monthly transacting builders (qMTB) there's so much noise (and misdirection) in onchain metrics and it's been very helpful to focus in on the signal.

my lesson on this is it is SUPER key to define the right atomic metric to track (and VERY bad things happen if you don't). For example at Twitter for a long time focusing on top line DAU proved to be incorrect and it was better to focus on meaningful conversations.

yep - 100% agreed. trying to zero in on what matters, though surely have a lot to learn given how early we are in the journey.
