Roam vs Obsidian vs Notion vs Apple Notes vs LogSeq vs...? What do people love/use? I've just started trying Obsidian, have spent significant amount of times with everything above.

Depends on how you like to think, and what you prioritize. Obsidian prioritizes offline performance, long term privacy/ownership of your data, and extensibility via plugins. For better and worse it’s designed to be less dogmatic, so that you can shape it to your needs.

Drafts Around 80-90% of the text I write goes through Drafts. Such a good OG iOS app (and great Mac companion). farcaster://casts/0x...618588f958

Standard Notes https://standardnotes.com/ It's my go to for all note-taking, even has a secure authenticator app as a Note template (so no need to use Authy/Google Authenticator)

LogSeq here. My biggest complaint is the difficulty to write documents (ie non bulleted content). But I prefer bullet formatting for 90% of what I use it for. I'd use Apple Notes if it were scriptable.

I default to Apple Notes because it’s so quick and it feels like there’s less pressure to be structured. But once a week I take from my (messy) Apple Notes and move chunks into Notion regularly (structured notes for sharing). Bit of friction doing that though. Any tips from others?

Don’t sleep on standard notes. Hands down the best encryption and sync (Apple notes level) but open source. If I could hook logseq / obsidian into their sync engine it would be game over

Been giving LogSeq a try (with beta sync service) and I like it. Has a growing community, seems hackable, but the defaults are good enough.
