i'm a little frustrated with ppl taking cheap dunks on nouns

has any *centralized* NFT project with a comparable ~$50M spend exported more new tech, culture, and public goods funding? (maybe only exception is penguins) 

the fact that nouns has done much much more with actual *decentralized* governance (and all the inefficiencies that comes from that) makes it a remarkable example of maybe having hope that decentralized internet communities can do some real things (like building its own gov tools, winning dota tournaments, making feature length movies, etc).

ofc there is a lot to actually be critical of. for example value capture feels very low compared to what we've produced. but lumping nouns into the bucket of "look, another dao wasting money" is a cheap and lazy take

The biggest thing I take away from this is sure, there is room for improvement. 

Post-proposal governance and oversight is one way to do this. Clearer, standard milestones and goals/ROI/brand impact for larger prop funds requests. 

Streaming funds and the DAO having the option to stop or claw back funds and maintain strong social and financial accountability. 

But overall believe Peter's take is the wrong conclusion and appreciate your take. 

We are in a great experiment with all DAOs, easy to forget that.
