I'll have to explore the channel mixer! Sometimes I duplicate the art layer, change the mode of the one on top to Difference (which makes the scene black). Then I add a Black/White filter to just the top layer, and play with the sliders.

Nope! It's all one render from 3D and did some slight color swaps in Photoshop ( using the channel mixer a load these days )
