@noun40 brought up an idea that is exciting to me, in the vein of reducing the need for active governance: streaming. 

Every Noun is entitled to stream a portion of the treasury to some address(es). We can use similar logic to the client rewards as to the allowlist and how much.

Thinking about a Nouns Endowment to help ensure the DAO continues in perpetuity. 

Idea is that we set aside some % of the treasury in a stable yield bearing asset (ex. CUSDCv3, sDAI, …). The interest would be used to fund builders, ideally in a stream like manor drawing from what /vrbs has built.  

Thoughts?

Lots of discussion, can’t think of examples immediately but I can look around!

Nice good call out. Any examples of the stETH yield vaults in the wild you have seen do this well?

Not a stable asset, but stETH yield vaults with a timelock are quite simple thanks to their rebasing. Deposit tokens in, keep locked for X years, allow only yield to be withdrawn

You can do the same with any stablecoin-based rebasing token too, but the yield tends to be more volatile and some providers become outdated

We think something like this could help protect the treasury from arb. And achieve a similar outcome to what @w-g proposed earlier this year.

Don’t think rounds is the way. Staking in a drip function contract. That only drip plus X can ever be called upon. (Kinda like a trust of sorts) that would be my ideal scenerio. Cc @jarmen who probably has gone crazy thinking about this. 

AND a main fully accessible treasury of course. Auction 50/50.

This was actively arbed away and Ξ unstaked. 

This was voted against and the burn mentality was instituted 

We could have lived of stake . Now we burn to the bone.
