Guess what my son wants to be for Halloween? Some people's love language is cooking, or helping, or buying flowers. My love language is making elaborate /CUStəm/ costumes for Halloween. My favorite memories growing up are of my mom hand-making every single one of my Halloween costumes; so if there's one thing I give my kids, it's that. Love comes in all shapes and sizes. Having that one thing that reminds you how much you are loved, no matter how silly it may be, is magical. 🧡🖤

🦋 The /delicəte/ balance As the leaves on my apricot tree start to die, a monarch butterfly takes its repose and I am reminded that everything hangs in a delicate balance. We are all connected, in one way or another, to everything else on this earth. Deep thoughts aside, ATE is one of my favorite Suffixes! When -ATE is found at the end of a verb, it is stressed and pronounced just like the word "ate" in the sentence "I ate the cake." ATE suffix in Verbs: DebATE InflATE MotivATE ParticipATE BUT, when -ATE is found at the end of nouns and adjectives, the A is reduced to the /ə/ sound. ATE suffix in Nouns and Adjectives: Senəte Chocoləte Desperəte Fortunəte Share your favorite ATE word in the comments below! (Bonus points if you can creATE a fun sentence to go with it 😜)

CIVILIZED ❤️🤍🩵 It's been a long time since I watched a political debate and didn't want to punch one (or both) candidates. Absent was (most of) the usual name calling we've seen in the last 8 years. While Vance and Walz disagreed on most things, they also agreed on several, and admitted it freely. It even felt at some points they thought their opponent's ideas were good ones. They complimented each other. They showed empathy. They treated each other like humans. I even thought somewhere in there that maybe they could work to brainstorm solutions TOGETHER. While I won't talk about their performance off stage, or on social media, I have to admit that was incredibly refreshing. We are capable of solving our problems if we just listen to each other, instead of choosing sides and defending them blindly. I vote for more /CIV.əl.ɪzed/ treatment of our fellow human beings, in ALL situations. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/crr5j1q8wlno

Say hello 👋 to my squirrel friend 🐿️ This mamma squirrel has been hanging out in our backyard for about two years, and compared to the boys, she's quite friendly! Over the last few months, I've started "training" her to let me pet her (with a long wooden spoon) in exchange for a 🥜. She eats most of the things that grow in my garden, but I don't care (much) because she is so cute 🥰 I hope you enjoy these 30 seconds as much as I did.
