This week I leart that:

- Base operates as a Layer 2 network, meaning it processes transactions off the main Ethereum chain (Layer 1) and only settles the final states on it. This helps reduce the high transaction fees associated with Ethereum's mainnet.

-Base is designed to handle a large volume of transactions, with a capacity of up to 2,000 transactions per second (TPS), far surpassing Ethereum's 15 TPS. This scalability is crucial for supporting high-demand applications, such as gaming and decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms

-Base utilizes Optimistic Rollup technology, which allows it to bundle multiple transactions into a single transaction on the Ethereum mainnet. This reduces the load on Ethereum, enhancing transaction processing speed and efficiency.
