I once visited Bloomberg's NYC HQ for an early AM meeting, and every single person I encountered looked me in the eye, said good morning, used my name (from my badge), and complimented something about me—"I like the color of your suit". I found it equally charming, disarming, uncomfortable, and worrisome.
