part of the challenge is layering on the whole fantasy points infra 

i.e. right now the official F1 league updates the value of each driver/team weekly and rewards /deducts pts for things like overtakes and DOTD, which are not captured by FastF1

at a minimum for this year we could use the official league, match usernames to a wallet via signup form, collect signup fees, have a multisig, and distribute prizes at the end of the year 

but would be fun to jam on something more advanced

Yeah, I think let’s start it off simple like you suggested to get the ball rolling especially given this season is about to start soon. But I’m down to help with something more automated/decentralized down the line (and also the simpler version to start off ofc)

Also, would we wanna do this on an EVM chain or Solana 😄? (fine with either as a dev tbh but prefer an L2 if we do go with evm due to fees)

I've been thinking about how it could be done. A couple years ago i did an NFT project on optimism where you could mint random drivers for each race. We had about 15 people and it went pretty well. We all still have the NFTs. I learned a lot from that attempt.
