Don’t really know or care if contentcoins are good or bad. I’m just glad people are trying unorthodox things again.

CT will always push back on this because most people there benefit from established norms. They’ll also forget about this in a week.

Exactly. Let the experiments play out, this space was built on weird ideas anyway.

After yesterday's big drama on content coins, remember one thing 

WE NEED MORE EXPERIMENTS!!!

Back in 2008, Steve Jobs said  “We have over 250,000 apps in the App Store. We don't need any more Fart apps.”

That was a problem in Web2. Too many apps. Too much noise.
But in crypto? That’s not our problem. Yet.

We don’t have 250,000 TOTAL fun apps.
We barely have 25 fartcoins.
And that’s the point.

We are not late.
We are early -- painfully, obviously early.

What we need now is an explosion of small, viral, delightful experiments.

Tap-to-mint games
Meme markets
Useless-but-fun social toys
Weird badges, fake elections, cursed pets
crypto got talent
... and more

This is what @jacob at @zora and @jessepollak at @base are trying. 

We should be thankful to them for experimenting early and sharing their lessons so that we can build better and faster.

100%. It's tough operating in a space where the tech and narratives constantly change. Can't get lost in the sauce. Not experimenting is the riskiest option

Every cycle has its ‘unorthodox moment.’ ICOs, NFTs, DeFi summer. Content coins might flame out or they might rewrite the script. Either way, the pushback is part of the pattern

Content coins is another step closer to nonprofit causes growing on-chain so I can’t deny it’s still refreshing to see change and people trying ideas without fear of judgment from older, dated-tradition-rooted mindsets about internet and tech.
