REMBRANDT VAN RIJN (1606 - 1669)

"Saskia in the image of Flora" was created in 1634. Rembrandt dedicated the painting to his future wife, whom he married in the same year when he finished the painting. "Saskia in the image of Flora" is one of the most romantic works of the author.The artist put into it a lot of secrets, charm and mysteries. With his inspiration Rembrandt met when she, in 1633, visited the City of Tulips in order to visit her cousin Altje van Eilenbyurh. At that time the girl was twenty-one years old.
