My favorite thing from my time in Japan has been just watching people execute their craft with meticulous detail and skill… The 70 year old tempura master who’s been doing it for 30+ years; the father/son duo executing a flawless omakase; the bartender who spends 10 minutes cutting the most perfect ice cubes,etc

I’m fascinated by them as well, and the culture 🤦🏻♀️ there is a certain beauty to watch what you just described, but the big mystery is how?! Like, how can you do the same simple thing over and over again for years and still be passionate and driven to get up in the morning and keep on going!

Probably because their society values striving for perfection in their daily tasks. This is why their is a diversity of cultures on earth.
