Farcaster UX/culture needs to get a lot better for people outside of crypto. Most people in crypto are on here by now, so for growth to continue beyond armies of airdrop-hunting bots, "normal" folks need to feel like they fit in here.

What are the most “normie” parts of FC right now? I was about to onboard a normie friend today, but then I got nervous that they would land here and be like “what the hell is all of this crypto-babble?! Where are the regular people/groups?!”

There are channels for a lot of non crypto stuff like /fitness /books /new-york etc

Had this exact experience @tacos is describing when trying to onboard my gf yesterday (inspired this cast). She started searching for channels and even though I thought there were plenty of active normie-friendly channels, she couldn't find any that she liked besides location-based ones.

Yeah that’s a totally fair concern, i imagine it’s quite overwhelming

Good point, but I guess I was worried that they wouldn’t find their way there as part of the typical onboarding journey. I might time again with them, but hold their hand toward channels that reflect their interests
